MPReviews VIP membership is the full-access tier for members who want everything the platform has to offer. The community has been building an archive of honest, unfiltered massage and spa reviews since 2001. VIP membership is how you read all of it — without ads, without truncated content, and with every detail reviewers chose to share. This page explains exactly what VIP unlocks, how pricing works, how cancellation works, and why your membership supports a platform you can actually trust.

What VIP Unlocks

VIP membership removes every limitation that standard free access carries. Here is a complete breakdown of what changes the moment you upgrade.

No Ads

Free members browse MPReviews with display advertising. VIP members do not. The platform is cleaner, faster, and easier to navigate when your screen is not occupied by banner ads, interstitial ads, or promoted content that has nothing to do with what you came to find. For members who use MPReviews regularly — researching providers before visits, browsing city hubs, reading through review archives — the ad-free experience alone makes a meaningful difference in how the platform feels to use.

It is also worth noting what "no ads" means in our context. MPReviews does not accept payment from providers to feature or promote their listings in a way that influences how reviews appear. The ads that free members see are standard display advertising, not a mechanism for businesses to improve their reputation. When we say VIP members browse without ads, we mean without that display advertising layer. The integrity of review content — which is entirely separate from advertising — remains the same for all users.

Uncensored Reviews — Full Text, No Blurring, No Truncation

This is the defining benefit of VIP membership and the reason most members upgrade.

Every review published on MPReviews is written by a community member who visited a provider and chose to share their experience in detail. Those details matter. The specifics about a provider's demeanor, the quality of the service, the atmosphere of the location, and the reviewer's honest assessment of whether the visit was worth it — that is the information people come to MPReviews to find. It is also the information that is most useful when you are deciding whether to book a visit.

Standard (free) members see a preview of each review — enough to get a general impression but not the full account. VIP members read the complete review text as the member wrote it. No blurring. No truncation at a strategic point. No paywall interrupting the middle of an important detail. You read the full review, every time, for every provider in the archive.

This applies to the entire archive — not just recent reviews, but 20-plus years of community contributions across hundreds of cities and thousands of provider listings. If a review is in our system and it meets our guidelines, VIP members can read it in full.

HD Galleries — Full-Resolution Photos

Where photo galleries are available for a provider or business listing, VIP members access the full-resolution versions. Standard access may show lower-resolution previews or limited gallery views. VIP access means you see the photos at full quality — which matters when you are trying to get a genuine sense of a location's atmosphere, setup, or presentation before deciding whether to visit.

Photo galleries on MPReviews are community-contributed where available, and coverage varies by location. Not every listing has an associated gallery. Where galleries exist, VIP members have full access.

Private Messaging — Connect With Other Members

VIP members can send and receive private messages to and from other members within the MPReviews platform. This is a member-to-member communication feature, not a provider contact tool. It exists so community members can connect, ask questions, share information, and build the kind of peer-to-peer knowledge exchange that has always been part of what makes a genuine review community valuable.

All private messaging is subject to our community guidelines. Messaging cannot be used for solicitation, harassment, or any activity that violates our terms of service. The feature is intended for legitimate member-to-member communication and is moderated accordingly.

Insider Details — Reviewer Names and Full Descriptions

VIP members see the full reviewer attribution and complete descriptions that standard members do not. Knowing which member wrote a review — and being able to look at their review history — adds a layer of context that changes how you interpret what you read. A long-standing member with dozens of reviews across multiple cities carries implicit credibility that an account with a single submission does not. Being able to see that context helps you weigh reviews more accurately.

Full descriptions mean the complete account of the experience as the reviewer wrote it — not just a summary or a truncated version, but the whole thing, including the details that are often the most practically useful when making a decision about whether to visit a particular provider.

Pricing

MPReviews VIP membership is available at three billing intervals: monthly, 6-month, and annual. All three tiers give you the same complete access to every VIP benefit. The difference is price — longer commitments cost less per month, so members who know they will use the platform regularly save more by choosing a longer plan.

Monthly plan. The standard entry point. Pay month to month with no upfront commitment. Ideal for members who want to try VIP access before committing to a longer plan, or who use the platform occasionally enough that month-to-month flexibility matters.

6-month plan. Pay for six months at a reduced monthly rate compared to the monthly plan. A good option for members who use MPReviews regularly and want to save money without committing to a full year.

Annual plan. The best per-month rate. Pay for a full year upfront at the lowest monthly equivalent cost. For members who use MPReviews consistently throughout the year, the annual plan offers the most value.

All plans renew automatically at the end of the billing period. You will not be surprised by a renewal charge — you will have signed up for an auto-renewing subscription and can cancel at any time before the renewal date to prevent the next charge. Switching between plans is also available from your profile at any time.

Current pricing for each plan is displayed on the upgrade page. We keep pricing transparent — what you see is what you pay, with no setup fees, no hidden charges, and no promotional pricing that reverts to a higher rate after an introductory period.

Cancellation

Cancelling your VIP membership is straightforward, self-service, and available at any time. There is no cancellation fee, no retention process to navigate, and no requirement to contact support or explain your reason for leaving.

How to cancel: Log in to your account, open the profile dropdown menu, and select "Cancel Membership." Follow the confirmation steps. The entire process takes less than a minute.

What happens after you cancel: Your VIP access does not cut off immediately. You keep full VIP benefits through the end of your current billing period — the period you have already paid for. If you cancel halfway through a monthly billing cycle, you retain VIP access for the rest of that month. If you cancel three months into an annual plan, you retain access for the remaining nine months. You will not be charged again after your current period ends.

No partial refunds: Cancellation stops future charges. We do not offer prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period already paid. The way to avoid an unwanted charge is to cancel before your renewal date. Your account settings display your next renewal date so you always know when it is.

Reactivation: If you cancel and later decide to return to VIP, reactivating is as simple as going through the upgrade process again. Your account history, review submissions, and saved information are retained. There is no penalty or waiting period for reactivating.

We designed cancellation to be this simple because we believe the right way to retain members is to provide a platform worth paying for — not to make leaving difficult. If VIP membership is valuable to you, you will stay. If it is not, you should be able to go without friction.

Trust — Payments, Privacy, and Platform Integrity

Secure Payment Processing via Stripe

All payment processing on MPReviews is handled by Stripe, one of the world's most widely used and trusted payment infrastructure companies. When you enter your card details to purchase a VIP membership, that information is transmitted directly to Stripe's secure servers using industry-standard TLS encryption.

MPReviews does not store your full card number on our servers. We hold a secure subscription token provided by Stripe that allows us to manage your membership status and process renewals — but your actual card details never pass through or rest on our systems. This means that even in the unlikely event of a security incident affecting MPReviews, your full payment information would not be exposed.

Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of compliance certification in the payment card industry. This means your payment is processed within the most rigorous security environment available. Every payment page on MPReviews is served over HTTPS with SSL/TLS encryption, visible as the padlock icon in your browser address bar.

Your Membership Supports Editorial Independence

This is something worth understanding clearly: your VIP subscription is what keeps MPReviews able to operate without depending on revenue from the providers it reviews.

Many review platforms generate revenue from the businesses listed on them — through paid placement, featured listings, lead generation, or reputation management services. That model creates an obvious conflict of interest: a platform that earns money from businesses has a financial incentive to keep those businesses happy, which often means softening or suppressing negative reviews. We have seen this play out across the review industry for years.

MPReviews does not operate that way. We do not accept payment from providers to boost, hide, or alter their reviews. We do not offer pay-to-remove services. We do not allow businesses to edit or influence review content. Our "No Editing / No Pay-to-Remove" policy is absolute and has been in place since 2001.

That independence requires a sustainable business model that does not compromise it. VIP membership is that model. When you subscribe to VIP, you are directly funding a platform whose only obligation is to you — the reader and the community — not to the businesses being reviewed. Your subscription is what makes it possible for MPReviews to maintain its no-pay-to-remove policy without exception.
