Bitcoin for Backpage
It won't have much effect to us mongers, except for the fact we may be missing updated ads for favorite providers. Apparently Backpage is no longer accepting Visa or Mastercard as payment options. I was asked by a shop owmer why she couldn't renew her Backpage ads. We got on her computer and she showed me that she was not able to renew the shop ads even with the new credit card. I looked at the page and I saw the error message. It said that Backpage was no longer accepting MasterCard as payment. We tried a Visa card and same error came up. Further down on the page it gave payment options, including Bitcoin. We were able to fund her Backpage account using Bitcoin and get her ads updated.
I'm thinking there are probably a lot of providers out there who have no understanding of Bitcoin and will not be able to renew their Backpage ads. Or worse, not be able to understand the Error message in English telling them that they can no longer use a Visa or MasterCard as payment options. For all you mongers are wondering why your favorite provider isn't posting any new ads, it's probably because she's not up to speed with Internet currency.

That asshole sheriff says he has No problem arresting prostitutes.....I love how the article says in April BP ran 1.4 million ads in their adult section. But since 2009... 6 years and countless MILLIONS of ads they made 800 arrests but only 50 were sex related! Sounds like it's not as big a problem as they make it out. He should be fired for doing a shitty job... 50 arrests out of millions of "illegal" ads? Sounds like Visa and Mastercard should also focus on whatever the other 750 arrests were too? Sounds to me like out of over 100 million ads since 2009 and only 50 arrests the adult section and mongers are pretty safe.

I can imagine them coming back to me crying that they lost all their money in bitcoin. They can always mail and check to Dallas fund their account. Maybe that's the way to get a discount or freebie. Find a shop thats using body rubs to place ads. Go in with a pitch that you can show them how to fund their account so they can continue placing ads in exchange for a freebie. You'll have the advantage of being able to read English. Just use Google translate to explain it to the mamasan or papasan. Of course, you're SOL if they have an ABC kid.
