Why is there still soft-core "porn" on HBO, Cinemax, etc.

I know this isn't strictly an MP-type of topic, but where else am I going to post it? And I'm sure you guys watch these if you have premium channels or when they have their periodic free viewing periods.
I just don't understand what the appeal is, beyond an initial curiosity which is dissipated after seeing 5-10 min of just a few of them because they are all alike. Terrible acting, mostly just videos to highlight a lot of bad boob-jobs, like Playboy come to life (but didn't Playboy also just recently stop publishing naked photos?), and the oddest thing is, these are supposed to be too "racy" for children, but an unknowledgeable child (what is the max. age for that now--maybe 8?) can watch a hundred of these and still have no idea what is between the legs of the other sex. They are more careful in their camera-angles to be sure they don't show anything down there than they are about any other aspect of the production. Although I did see once where a girl was riding cowboy on a guy and they accidentally showed as she went up that there was just empty space between them--this only happened once, however, in my somewhat limited viewing.
Do any of you guys watch these and get anything out of them besides the "watching a movie so bad it's good" type of effect? Why haven't they gone the way of the adult video store (or any video store, come to think of it)?

Most likely, it's for people who don't have or choose not to use computers and Internet access.
Stay at any decent hotel or even motel and the adult channels are offered on HBO in lower Rez and for a fee. In that same room you also get free Wi-Fi access. Why pay for censored softcore porn when uncensored Hi-Rez hard-core porn is available on your Internet accessible devices? With the right cable interfaces, you can even watch this Internet programming on that TV.
But somebody must be using those TV services. Hotels and motels still provide them.
