Donald Trump whacked by more damaging polls

Hillary Clinton has a strong lead in Florida and Virginia, according to two new polls out Tuesday.

Clinton leads Trump by 9 points in Florida.

A Monmouth University poll found that in Florida, Clinton was 9 points ahead of Trump, with 48% of voters in the swing state backing Clinton, while 39% were behind Trump.

Clinton’s lead in Florida is helped by her support from Hispanic, black and Asian voters — 69% of minority voters supported the Democratic nominee Clinton, compared with just 19% who supported Trump.

Clinton leads Trump by 14 points in Virginia.

Clinton had a strong lead in Virginia with voters. A Washington Post poll out Tuesday morning found that Clinton was 14 points ahead of Trump with voters in the state, 52% to 38%.

Thanks for all the updates, Lib. It might be worth noting the warning given recently by President Obama that Democrats should not get too comfortable and assume they've got the election in the bag, as anything can happen. He said Dems should be "running scared" up until the day of the election. He didn't mean shaking in their boots, he meant not getting lazy and complacent.

In terms of the shifting sands of popular opinion, a lot can happen between now and November. While Trump does a good job of shooting himself in the foot day after day, Wikileaks, for example, could drop a bomb on Hillary that could blow her already shaky credibility right out of the water. Remember, as bad as Trump may be, Hillary is the sorriest candidate fielded by the Democrats in a long time, and that's no secret. Just sayin.'
