Exclamation Newsom's Stay-home Order

LA Times: Newsom's stay-home order wasn't worth a $54-billion deficit.

Heard Tesla will pull out of California soon if they can't get some accomodation. They're making batteries, and solar panels in addition to the cars.

Clean tech like electric cars and solar panels?

A twitter feud between Elon Musk and Lorena Sanchez with Musk saying to arrest him and Sanchez using (help me Jesus!) profanity that she apologized for all over the media?

Tune in.

Default Musk wipes $15 billion off Tesla’s value with tweet

Confucius say: “Don’t drop LSD while on Twitter”

Elon Musk wipes $15 billion off Tesla’s valuation by tweeting that Tesla’s stock shares are ‘too high’

Tesla shares extended losses after his tweets on May 1st and fell more than 10% of value

Tesla ended the trading day with a market cap around $130 billion having lost $15 billion from the previous day’s close

Musk’s Twitter thread on May 1st continued with the CEO tweeting parts of the Star Spangled Banner and professing to focus on Mars rather than needing earthly possessions

You notice he keeps his tweets short. Can't you see what happened here? As soon as he caused a big drop, no doubt he soaked up a bundle of additional shares. Also if you saw he has a partner who just delivered him a new baby, maybe his 6th. They are not married. He learned. Tesla is up about 200% over last year but his production is ramping up more. With his SEC deal you would think he'd stay under the radar. That's not him. Late news heard that CA plant got things ironed out to operate.

Newsom just realized he's stuck with a major problem. He IS getting on his knees. Started already this week. Of course he's going to try to make it sound like he's reasonable. This state IS in a world of hurt now and will require major rethink before it can normalize. A lot of shops, barbers, salons, etc are opening and it doesn't end there.

Moderna on vaccine trail has successful results on 8 out of 8 human trials. Others hard on their heels. Next batch of trials will go into thousands. News on this was market trigger this am. Other major drug producer with testing done at Oxford claims their vaccine ready for distribution in September. Feds view is different but still longer term recovery. It's moving in good direction. Meeting current levels is hard and there will be many challenges to get through safely but if results of precautions can continue to affect numbers of new positive tests downward approaching zero it will be easier for Newsom. If not there are many unhappy campers. Real distributable vaccine, when it comes, will be manna. In meantime, Xi is saying that China will offer free vaccine to the world. Not clear how and who tested theirs, or if totally ready. Would you take it?

Reality Check: The 2019-2020 Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness Is Only 45%

For the 2019-2020 (influenza) Flu Season, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Fluzone Quadrivalent (four-component) Vaccine (aka the Flu Shot)

The (Fluzone Quadrivalent Vaccine) Flu Shot Is Only 45% Effective

Scientific research data, from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Morbidity and Mortality Report (MMWR), the Hospitalized Adult Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness Network (HAIVEN), the New Vaccine Surveillance Network (NVSN), and the U.S. Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness Network, on children and adults with acute respiratory illness (aka the Flu) during October 23, 2019 to January 25, 2020, the overall effectiveness of seasonal influenza vaccine (Flu Shot) for preventing medically attended laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infection was 45%

Effectiveness of seasonal influenza vaccine for preventing medically attended laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infection was 45%

To argue a vaccine developed by standard process with an overall effectiveness of 45% for various flu strains, a different virus, against an RNA developed vaccine or vaccines with so far human trials effectiveness of 100% for covid-19 is not logical. So far no comparison.
