Default War in the Cards With N Korea?

Kim Jong Un seems crazy enough, our presisdent is less than predictable, China seems to be signaling that they would remain neutral if bombs start flying. And how 'bout Syria and the Russians? Best Case Scenario, the major powers stay out of it and we go in and sort out these rogue nations and terrorist assholes. Worst Case Scenario, Russia and/or China decide to back up the punk-ass regimes they've been protecting and a world-wide shit storm ensues...

Is it time to repent of our mongering ways before Lil' Kim launches a nuke at LA?

Thoughts? Armchair analysis?

Russia is broke, China doesn't want trade disrupted, So. Korea and Japan are the ones in harms way short term. China is actually stopping coal and oil shipments to N. Korea, so it may appear low key but N. Korea will not be able to keep their present posture. For N. Korea to cross the demilitarized zone won't work for them. The most prudent direction is to keep N. Korea sanctioned and multilaterally get them to shut down nuke program. If they keep losing ability to trade they may have a new leader because this guy is not going to lead them very far and his time is running out. We don't need to blink and he can't keep up his game for long. We will however back Japan, So. Korea and China to assist us. Notice Putin has his mouth shut on this one. Oh, BTW, Kim J. Un can't even launch most of his rockets, they're a joke. If you think a nuke is coming to LA, that's a joke(remember the bomb shelters?). Of course if you're really worried, you can continue hiding inside your Trojan, LoL. Shag on, hero.

I've always wondered how much really high quality K-girl pussy this guy could get. Man, if I was him, I'd have 10,000 concubines in waiting and I'd order up 3 each night to serve at my pleasure. Each one is pre-screened for std and attractiveness before they are brought to my bed chambers.

On a more serious note, all we can do with the Kim dynasty is manage the situation. Getting China and the world to put sanctions and pressure on the regime is a useful and about the only weapon we got. The tough talk and thoughts of a pre-emptive strike is ridiculous. Sure, we could reduce North Korea to ruble within 5 minutes. But in that 5 minute period they would retaliate with artillery and missiles and kill MILLIONS in Seoul (and thousands of U.S. Military personnel) in the bllnk of an eye. That is unacceptable. If we keep up the threatening language and rhetoric, we just move a little closer to that scenario. The fat little fucker with the bad haircut just wants to stay in power. He wouldn't think twice about retaliation if he thought the end was near.

The rat is most dangerous when cornered and feels that he has nothing to lose. You can't reason with crazy.

Which is why before they have the definite ability to nuke the west coast the window is open to bring sanctions to bear by both China, Russia, Japan, South Korea and the U.S. and any Allies since it is in the interest of World Peace and before the only option we have left on the table is to pre-emptively strike them to neutralize North Korea's ability to deliver nuclear warheads. If sanctions can make Kim understand his country has a much better chance of surviving by following the lead and mandate by the U.N. and the civilized world and that cooperating with the rest of the world gives him an OUT to do away with their nuclear program, since cooperation and goodies would be tied to them honestly cooperating with the civilized world. Let us not forget the diplomatic attempt was made by the Clinton administration in which we were deceived by North Korea, and subsequent acknowledgment made of them lying to the international community and refusal of following the rules. So planned observation of their dismantling is the only way to verify they would not be lying again. But, hey, that's why this is such a sticky wicket, because not enough pressure has been levied on North Korea to bring them to honest diplomacy and roll back of their program. North Korea seems to believe and follow their leader down this dangerous path and they seem to believe they hold the better hand. That is what needs to be shown as a false premise. More has to happen from more quarters before we can get to a reasonable negotiation point. In the meantime, the clock is ticking.

Trojanhero,

surely you have more thoughts on how this plays out besides the few short comments you show above. If so have at it giving a more thorough analysis from your perspective. One of the problems is that the North Korean regime is employing a lot of their own people in producing and perfecting their weapons systems or preparing to set them up for use. Point being with so many involved in that, shutting down their work would lead to unemployment of his people more than they have now. This would lead to a stronger propaganda stance to keep going their present direction going. They don't seem to see they would be way ahead by creating more productive work for their people and work towards being able to feed their people by their own production, rather than have them work for their government on outlawed nuclear weapons systems.

Why doesn't the west invite N.K. and their military to help fight ISIS? Seems Kim Jung Haircut is dying to take Daddies car out for a drive, and the west could see just how able NK's military is. We carve out a section somewhere in the Middle East, and let them loose. We work with China and Russia militarily, why not these clowns?

NK's military is the fifth largest in the world. Pakistan, Iran and affiliates are involved with NK. I do not get how, where or why you suggest "We" carve out a section "somewhere" in the Middle East, and let them loose. So you suggest we dial them up to arrange that gem? We don't have normal relations due to their violation of every UN rule put into place to keep them from behaving as they are. I see where you say that we "work" with China and Russia militarily. Seems news to me. Besides you actually suggest we reward NK for their behavior by offering them a job to go after ISIS who are on the brink of being removed from Iraq at least soon? I don't think we need to appease the haircut in any way which would embolden him. Besides he is just playing his game because it generates him money and keeps his people under his thumb, if he actually did anything besides playing... his game would be over. He likes his name in lights and pictures with a big smile while he salutes himself. I think some sanctions and actions are forthcoming that will be severe to NK mostly involving China and Russia, since China has been shown to talk out of both sides of their mouth about helping while increasing their commerce with NK in the first quarter of this year by 40% after telling us they would clamp down on fuel and other trade with them. Instead they have increased trade. Steps involving banking and other things will be a more direct sphincter on NK...it's coming...if NK gets snubbed as everyone agrees in the UN they should, and their pals find it hard to help them, internally their peeps can only take so much before blowing the fat haircut out their severely restricted sphincter.

My opinion is that Kim isn't crazy enough to engage anyone... He will push his limits and go as far as he is allowed, he'll pretend he's laughing but its the trickle of piss down his leg that tickles him, not pissing off other leaders.

Conversely, (and it is not my intent to piss off Trumpeteers or to turn this into a Trump bashing thread), but Trump loves bravado, he talks the talk but if he were ever to attempt to walk the walk he'll trip over his shoelaces. So when it comes to preemptive strikes, threats that have any realism, warnings that are likely to scare Kim... I haven't seen any yet.

So a war with North Korea is not likely to happen because it will turn real ugly real fast, but there are several key players who are sane enough and experienced enough to not let that happen!

The turn of rhetoric starting with NK threats of the past few days of launching 4 missles at Guam and our response through today is more definitive, and since both China and Russia voted with the rest of the UN to unanimously agree to condemn NK for their actions and resolve to cause NK to stop and undue their Nuke Program, the whole civilized world is against what NK is attempting. Regardless of whose statement from us you want to read or comment on, essentially the US position is on the same page, so NK should be getting very nervous. It has caused a ripple in the markets today, but I do not believe that trend will hold. Point is So. Korea, Japan, China, Russia and the US are on the same page on this one. If the NK launches Japan has said anything flying over their soil enroute will be taken out. Remember that the test launches so far have fallen short of Japan whether by design or not, so anything headed over Japan airspace is fair game under ALL INTERNATIONAL RULES, not even to include the UN resolution agreed upon last week. (Oh, by the way, almost anything leaving from NK traveling towards the US, or Guam would have to pass over either Russia, or Japan territory.) It goes without saying that Russia would do the same thing as Japan has stated, but they by their UN agreement are obviously in the same camp as all the other UN nations who unanimously voted to condemn NK actions, missile tests, and threats which are already considered violations of UN rules and international law and certainly are not diplomacy in action. This foolish Haircut has now painted himself into a corner, especially since he is now talking about the number he will launch and claimed that he intends to make it land within 19 miles of Guam. If you think we are not ready for him, think again. Like Tillerson said yesterday, all Americans should be able to sleep very soundly at night. If this Haircut tries something there will be a lot less Koreans of the northern variety around. The several generational push of his country's strategy is understood by the world, and he could have avoided the push if he cared about his people. Instead of having half or more of his people tied up in the nuke program, he could have done an investment in farming and business and gotten their GDP up. That is the shame, but you know he does not listen to outsiders. It is hard to believe anyone who says that he is rational, logical, or sane. He follows the time honored Korean tradition of keeping the party line going until he is proven right, wrong, or is taken out. The recent leader of South Korea was replaced in a more civilized society just recently, but kept up a front until his time ran out. This has happened before in South Korea. The north follows a family control scheme of dictatorship that does not allow for any opposition. Time will tell what will go down.
