That Uncle Kim will give you a merit badge for repeating his propaganda that the whole world has heard and rejects after a massive catastrophic nuclear event? No need to continue beating his drum. I am not convinced that a speck of dust is worth more than a speck of dust. Think of the world in peacetime rather than what your Uncle Kim wants. Like Haley said: 'HE IS BEGGING FOR WAR'. Surely you must get it, no?
Dude I served in the Marines and fought in a war. I point out the complexities of
a critical situation and how easily it can spiral out of control. Only a real ass wipe
would make comments like you did. You demonstrated an inability time and again
to comprehend what some one wrote. The only on target thing you said was about the banks that I think may help find a solution. Otherwise you just babble. You probably need to
get a life.

Dude, I served in Navy and Merchant Marine in war as well. You speak for yourself and too bad you don't get it. There will be an answer but I won't look to you to provide it.

You're sounding like an E-2 PFC. Definitely assume too much. You don't have "The Answer", so they won't call you up for this one.

I am following this closely and like anyone else that is I see the complexity and
critical danger we are facing. I had a much higher rank than that. Regardless of what rank
you may have had it didn't obviously have a requirement to understand a situation such as
this. No at this time I do not have the answer. But neither at this time does anyone else
seem to.

Following it very closely here as well. No doubt it is complex and critical. Recall a strategy that was very much able to turn away a super missile threat against the US during Kennedy's administration. Very effective, however a lot closer to the US and therefor easier to execute. The Cuban missile crisis reared it's ugly head and the answer was a naval blockade. There is another vote upcoming to further expand sanctions on NK. If it gets the green light this concept may help. If we were to add such a blockade offshore of NK for incoming cargo ships and tankers bringing fuel or nuclear supplies in an effort to uncover violations of the sanctions then their power could be felt in yet another way. No doubt such additional muscle would rile up Kim Jong Un. The blockade could easily be set up outside of waters NK claims on both the east and west coasts of NK. Then only if China were delivering supplies across the land border between them and NK, even though they are agreeing to do the sanctions, would any real commerce be getting into NK. I have not heard this additional idea discussed from any news source yet. If blockade were clear of NK waters, any action against the blockade would be yet another issue. It still comes back to the point that NK continues to violate all rules agreed to by the UN and civilized world to push their illegal nuclear program and clearly plan to use it for offensive weaponry against other members of the world community, not for peaceful means. Russia has probably thought of this, but Putin said yesterday that he thinks the sanctions will not be effective, even though he is committed to participating in them. He doesn't want to bring up idea of blockade where the Soviet Union had to back down. All points worth examining as no one really wants the horror of aftermath of devastation. This blockade could be set up with our allies in the region to optimize the logistics of it.

Now we are on same page Marsean lol. I thought your review was to the point.
The only other thing is Chinas fear of a destabilized NK. Like there wasn't enough
to be concerned about already.

Yeah, well the news media is singing different songs every day too and this past afternoon apparently Putin has made comments he won't vote to extend the sanctions to the extent that the US will be asking for, but it remains to be seen. The meeting for vote is not here yet.

Rather strange that they can all agree there should be a second round of sanctions but maybe not at a higher level. But we also do not know how much will be done with the banking sanctions until there is some feedback on it. Xi talks out of both sides of his mouth as well. So is it not strange that perhaps the biggest challenge Trump will face will be this situation?

This has to come to a head now that it is so pumped up. I do believe that there will be some bloodshed to stop Kim and the blockade may be needed to put on the pressure and force Kim's hand.

People are starting to realize, just as China and Russia have, that no way can this be ignored. FH thinks he will force blackmail, which is essentially like acknowledging he will rule the world by intimidation and blackmail. Believe me, it won't go down like that.

I firmly believe that Russia and China cannot back FH without totally screwing up their own economies. Putin is too smart to believe if the shit hits the fan he can take his megabucks and go hide somewhere. For him to do so would only be if he were giving up Russia. That won't happen.

Xi is scared shitless that all their hard trade work will fall all apart. Maybe will if he makes the wrong move. If this escalates, it will be proof the UN cannot keep it together. Somehow or another it is down to US and our allies to hang in, but when there is no more issue FH will not be in NK, IMHO.

Just think now what all the kicking the can down the road has done for the last 47 years across many administrations. Letting the wound fester. Who was President when they let the basically unarmed "research vessel" (spy ship), the USS Pueblo, to wander around near the maritime border of NK territory without any escort of armed US Navy, and was captured by forces of NK in January 1968? Lyndon Johnson. Of course his larger focus was Vietnam.

NK still has the ship. 11 months after the capture, the crew was released after NK and US negotiators reached a settlement. The following year a NK MIG shot down a US Navy intelligence aircraft in April 1969 with 31 aboard. They all died. In 1970 quiet returned to the demilitarized zone. But NK is quiet no more.

Good points Marsean. Under Clinton in 1994 NK became critical. War seemed to be
in the wind. NK started to showing signs it was restarting its efforts to build nuke
weapons right after years of inactivity in their efforts. Well Clinton backed down accepting
small concessions from NK rather then try to force a permanent solution. Even though lives were at stake in SK the north nuke program was in its infancy. So Clinton started the
kick the can down the road era. Now look at the present and view how Clintons strategy
worked out.

Clinton was a rare gem. Besides NK he had Bin Laden and Monica Lewinsky
in his sights. He didn't pull the trigger on Bin Laden but sure enough nailed
Monica. So he left Bin Laden for Bush to deal with and we had a little thing
called 9/11.
