SVPD reverse sting
Quote:
SVPD Press Release March 15, 2016 On March 4, 2016, members of the Simi Valley Police Department’s Special Operations Unit in conjunction with the District Attorney's Office and local agencies conducted a reverse prostitution sting. The undercover operation targeted men soliciting females for prostitution through social media websites. During the operation a female officer working in an undercover capacity responded to solicitations to provide sex in exchange for payment. During the operation, 40 year old Michael _____________ of Newbury Park was arrested for soliciting a prostitute. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail. The operation targeting the “Johns” is part of an effort to combat the sex trade in Simi Valley. Prostitution is linked to sex trafficking and other serious crimes. Our goal is to deter those who engage in this activity and cause them to think twice about doing so in Simi Valley. https://nixle.com/alert/5606746/ Last edited by Libertine; June 23rd, 2016 at 08:49 PM. |

Law and Order - LOL

Maybe the guy was in a hurry and he drove right past one of the two dozen new signs installed all over town on his way to the sting location to get busted by the undercover female detective but he never stopped read the sign? Last edited by Libertine; June 23rd, 2016 at 08:50 PM. |

How'd ya get that pic bro? BTW, where do ya sit when you attend those city council meetings you been telling me about? Any info about what location of the take down of the one suspect? Do you think that whole thing is real? Maybe it is still in operation. If he TOFTT he should pass on the word if he's on here, no? For sure it's publicized to scare the beejesus outta the local hobbyists and that serves there purpose....the sign is their celebration, no?

I suspect AdultFax probably got busted a few months ago, because it suddenly disappeared from radar. But there was no news about it...
It's getting tougher every day to be a hobbyist... I'm also concerned about SA as well, as it's been on the main media, and now everybody knows about it.... |

There are numerous ways to both connect owners of & take down a site. - Any monetary transactions that are done through any US channels - Domain registration - Hosting / servers - Unencrypted traffic in or out of a site that is used for site management - Infiltration - Wire taps based on criminal activity not related to sex - for example money laundering, drugs, trafficking, failure to pay taxes Since mainly only US LE seems to dig into these things, the only ways for someone to run similar sites would be to ensure they do all of the following: - Host offshore - Buy a domain from a non-US registrar - Pay for all hosting and communications with Bitcoin - Self-host email & encrypt all emails - Always use encryption - Tunnel traffic to manage a site using a VPN passed through a secondary offshore host - Never accept payment from a US-based service - Keep all money offshore - Don't get involved with the members of the site - Don't get involved with approving or rejecting content on the site - just be a conduit - Don't trust anyone - Don't discuss business over the phone or SMS - Auto-delete old messages after 1 week - Be willing to lose all your money - If there is any aspect of the venture which overlaps into US territory and is at all traceable for any monetary earnings then for god's sake pay all your taxes due |

It doesn't have to prove anything. The implication is enough. How do you explain to the SO what your name or cell number is doing on their list? Probably should have used a burner phone, but hey, what's done is done. This is just another example of extra-judicial punishment meted out by LE to deter activity they can't easily stop legally, like sending letters to the addresses of registered motor vehicles that report the vehicle was spotted in a known prostitution area, etc. Just scare tactics.
