Black people no good. I started with a lame 'I don't know about that...' but her grasp of English is truly minimal and I knew there was no point in the conversation.

A lot of us would like to think that prejudice is all but gone -- it seems to be nearly so in the younger generations -- but it's real and pervasive. It's out in the open and under the surface. I have heard that there is a lot of racial enmity between various Asians: Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Filipinos... and maybe it's just part of how some people behave over there. Here, I find it unacceptable.

Where is this place at so I can avoid it ?
