Bolingbrook woman charged with prostitution

Steve Zalusky | Daily Herald
Saturday, June 02, 2007
Mount Prospect police arrested a Bolingbrook woman on prostitution charges following an investigation into a local spa.

Hee S. Choi-Sung, 48, of 314 Homewood, is charged with prostitution and keeping a place of prostitution.

According to police, one sergeant, four investigators and two tactical officers from the Mount Prospect Police Department and one detective from the Des Plaines Police Department arrived at Spa One, 1182 S. Elmhurst Road, Mount Prospect, on the evening of May 24.

Mount Prospect officer William Roscop said the business license describes the location as a health spa, and over the last couple of years police have received information about prostitution going on there.

“We actually had officers go in to investigate whether they were offering sex acts for cash and were unsuccessful,” he said.

Roscop said the business has small, confined spaces, all very secluded, making it difficult to find out what goes on behind closed doors.

Around 7:30 p.m. May 24, the Des Plaines detective entered Spa One. Twenty-five minutes later, the detective gave the signal to arrest, and the officers, displaying their badges, entered and secured the business, according to police.

Officers said they found one woman located in the front room by herself and another woman in a massage room with a “clothed male subject.”

The detective was in the third room from the front, with Choi-Sung.

The detective later said when he entered the business, he asked Choi-Sung for a massage, who told him it would cost $70 and then made a suggestive motion with her right hand. The detective paid her the money.

Once in a massage room, she told the detective to undress and advised him to take a shower. Following the shower, she led him back to the massage room and began massaging his back. After he agreed to pay her more money, she attempted to touch the detective in a sexual way, upon which he initiated the arrest signal.

During the raid, officers seized $1,200 in cash, pending asset forfeiture proceedings.

The two women and the man were released without charges.

Choi-Sung was released on bond pending a court date of June 11.
